Fort Worth’s vibrant community of entrepreneurs is vital to making the area a hub for creative businesses, and the city’s ninth annual Business Plan Competition exists to set those entrepreneurs up for success.
Participants will take part in five weeks of workshops and professional coaching, courtesy of the city’s Business Assistance Center and its partners, with the goal of developing a comprehensive plan that sets their business up for success and growth. Eventually, they’ll pitch their business plan to a panel of judges for the chance at $50,000 worth of cash prizes and professional services.

The city’s Business Plan Competition is a celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit that makes Fort Worth so unique. The drive, innovation, and grit of the city’s small business owners inspires them to break new ground across a variety of industries, and their work is helping shape the 13th largest and sixth-fastest growing city in the country.
That’s why it’s so important for Fort Worth’s entrepreneurs to develop roots in this passionate, supportive community, while learning the skills necessary to help their businesses flourish and grow in the years to come.

Apply online at the Business Plan Competition webpage (http://fortworthtexas.gov/business-plan/) until midnight Monday, June 17. Updates will also be posted on the page once the competition begins.
Eligible applicants for the Business Plan Competition should have a business with a DBA registered in Tarrant County, with an annual revenue of less than $500,000.

Once all entries are received, 25 businesses will be selected for the competition and their five-week training will begin. Final business plans will be due Sep. 11, and the Top 10 will participate in Pitch Night before a panel of judges on Oct. 10. The Top Three finalists will present in the finale on Oct. 24, competing for first, second, and third place prize packages.
