Jie Melchiors and her husband Matthijs' office park constructed out of conex shipping containers was conceived after they realized Fort Worth lacked a forward-thinking and cutting edge retail and commercial facility. Their decision to locate the Connex office park in a transitional neighborhood on East Rosedale enabled them to pursue something important to them: generating a positive impact in a community that they love. Hear Jie discuss the difference between working for corporations in her native China to the dynamic environment of being an entrepreneur in Fort Worth, Texas. She also discusses the advantages of launching two (!) startups with Matthijs and how each of their skills and background complement each other. The architectural firm behind Connex, called Mel/Arch, is a current member of Accelerate DFW's IDEA Works incubator program.
